Questions we hear from people like you
Do I need to be in the US or have a US bank account to close my LLC?
No. The state filing and the IRS letter work from anywhere. We pay the state fee from what you pay at checkout, so you do not need a US card or bank account for it.
Who files the final Form 5472?
You or your accountant. We do not prepare tax returns or advise on them. The IRS completes the EIN closure once the final return has been filed. See Form 5472 in the final year.
My registered agent still sends me invoices. Should I cancel now?
Not yet. Keep the agent until the state has confirmed the dissolution, because the state sends its notices there. We let you know once the state has confirmed the dissolution.
What exactly do I sign?
One authorization, online, that lets us and a licensed CPA or tax advisor from our network act for the LLC on this closure. You get a copy by email. The IRS letter that closes the EIN is signed by you as owner, and we prepare it ready to sign.
